Kala-Vishwa Competition Result
Kala-Vishwa, Nagpur organized a national level online kathak dance competition during 13th October to 25th October 2020. The competition received an overwhelming response with the blessings and guidance of Guru Sau. Lalita Hardas and Guru Shri. Devanand Gadikar. The online prize distribution programme was held on 30th October 2020. The competition aimed at encouraging kathak dance form and rich Indian culture of classical music, this unique endeavour also attempted at encouraging the kathak dance performers.
This competition was conducted in two groups Group-A – Junior Group which enrolled the participants below 13 years of age and Group –B – Senior Group was meant for the kathak performers above 13 years. A dance video of maximum 4 minutes for Group-A and 6 minutes for Group-B was invited from the participants. The participants of groups B were expected to present minimum 3 angas of kathak dance forms out of the following: that, amad, paran, gatnikas, kavit in their dance performance.
The last day of registration for this competition was 7th October 2020. 108 participants from all over the India took part in this competition. The performers from Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, West Bengal, Goa, Rajastan etc. showed their talent through this competition. The competitors from state of Madhya Pradesh like Ujjain, Indore, Badwani, Bhopal, Gwalior etc.; from Maharashtra, the competitor’s from Nagpur, Amravati, Nasik, Mumbai, Gondia, Yavatmal etc. proved their metal through their performances.
All the participants were expected to send their videos by 11th October, 2020. 54 participants from Group-A and 46 participants from Group-B sent their videos for the competition. The videos are to be uploaded on the official YouTube channel of Kala-Vashwa. The link was sent to the contestants on 13th October, 2020, which was supposed to be endorsed by the contestant’s till 25th October, 2020. The participants of the competition were to be evaluated on the basis of 20% views and likes received to YouTube videos as a result of their personal endorsement and 80% marks given by the examiners. The results were calculated on the basis of the views and the likes received to the participant’s videos till 12 o’clock at night on 25th October, 2020.
For this competition, 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and two consolation prizes were to be given to the participants from both the groups. The participants receiving the highest views and likes for their videos were chosen and the contestants with the best costume were also selected too. All the winners in the competition were felicitated with certificates and mementos.
The examiners for the competition were Mrs. Sudha Masand (Abu-Dhabi U.A.E), Mrs. Yogini Khanolkar (Hyderabad, Telangana), Mrs. Priyanka Abhyankar (Nagpur, Maharashtra), Mrs. Vidya Sawale (Amaravati, Maharashtra), Mrs. Dipti Kale (Nagpur, Maharashtra), Mrs. Gauri Jog (Chicago, U.S.A.), Mrs. Kshama Hardas Kshirsagar (Pune, Maharashtra), Mrs. Manisha Patrikar (Mumnai, Maharashtra), Mrs. Awanti Kate (Nagpur, Maharashtra). All the examiners who are experts in the field of Kathak dance were felicitated with memento by Kala-Vishwa, Nagpur.
During prize distribution ceremony Mrs. Madhavi Niyogi, President Kala-Vishwa gave her presidential address and congratulated the winner on their stupendous performance. The head of technical team of Kala-Vishwa, Mr. Shankar Gadhave, the coordinator of creative team Ms. Aditi Deshpande and the event coordinator Mrs. Dipti Kale took special efforts to make this activity a grand success.
